The Ramsey Movie Theater Will Close If You Don't Help - Yes You!

Ramsey Theater, a neighborhood landmark for 86 years, has gone dark. Support the digital upgrade and renovation so it can open again.

What is one of the main things that drew you to live in or near Ramsey?

It's the perfectly quaint, perfectly located, two screen theater that has been a neighborhood favorite since 1927. 1927! Our beloved Ramsey Theater closed its doors on August 20, 2013. Won't you please help them bring back this cherished neighborhood landmark?

The Ramsey Theater opened in 1927 and has been a favorite destination for the town and the neighboring communities ever since.  Many charming stories surround the theater which, in the early days, showed silent movies accompanied by an organist.

As parents and Ramsey business owners, they were saddened to learn of the closing of the theater. they share a love for cinema and know that this small-town theater was not only a symbol of their family town, but also a safe haven for the kids and a special place to go with their families.

The theater must be digitized before the end of 2013 because the movie industry is converting to 100% digital – replacing 35 mm film entirely by the end of this year.  The cost of this conversion is extremely high.

Most of the large theaters across the country have already converted to digital. But for a small town theater like Ramsey’s, the cost is prohibitive. This is why they are turning to the community, who understands the importance of keeping a movie theater in the town of Ramsey, to partner with them as they begin the journey of digitizing and renovating the Ramsey Theater.

Just the digital conversion alone will cost well over $100,000.  The initial goal is to raise a minimum of $125,000 throughkickstarter.com so they can at least complete the digital conversion of both theaters.  But that is only the beginning!

They hope to exceed their campaign goal so they can make the much needed renovations to the theater for the public - new seats, new carpet, new lobby/concession area and new bathrooms.

They are excited about the digital upgrade to their theater because it will enhance the movie-going experience for everyone – which is great!  Unfortunately, if they don’t convert to digital, the theater will remain closed forever.

They don’t want the Ramsey Theater to go dark and honestly, you don’t either. That’s why they initiated this Kickstarter campaign which includes great rewards for our supporters - so you can experience the new and improved Ramsey Theater!

Together, you can bring back a NEW Ramsey Theater - creating the gem of Main Street for many generations to come!

ALL SEEMS EASY RIGHT?  WRONG!  This project will only be funded if at least $125,000 is pledged by Tuesday Nov 5, 7:57am EST.
(and remember you don't need to live here, to help those that do)

Which means that every penny really counts and time is of the essence.  Please Help Today!!!
